One of the primary functions of a HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) system is to maintain indoor air quality (IAQ) in confined spaces, such as commercial and domestic buildings. IAQ is an important function because it controls the quality of air and safeguards the health of the occupants. Thus, the IAQ standards in most developed countries are very stringent. However, there are a few operational challenges posed in places where moisture content in the air is high as it leads to mold formation.
