摘要

Machine to machine (M2M) technology is one of the emerging technologies expected to gain popularity in the domain of wireless communication. The rise of 4G (fourth-generation) technology enables machines to communicate with each otherwithin a limited bandwidth, thus reducing the need for human intervention. Wireless sensor networks have critical applications across industry verticals, such as, environmental monitoring, smart homes and offices, and intelligent transportation systems. As applications across the verticals rely on advancement of wireless sensor technologies, the size and complexity of individual networks increase. The wireless sensor nodes could be deployed either regularly or irregularly. As a result, WSNs are exposed to highly dynamic and hostile environments. Hence, to minimize and prevent even single failure in WSNs, the networks need to be decentralized and distributed.
