摘要

A majority of people in underdeveloped areas do not have access to high-end diagnostic technologies, such as high resolution microscopic lenses due to high costs. Some researchers developed an attachment for smartphone lens to increase the resolution and capture the minute details of the images. This attachment was capable of scaling the image resolution approximately to one millionth of a meter, but it failed to bridge the quality gap between smartphone cameras’ image sensors and the lenses of high-end lab equipment. Healthcare personnel are in need of portable mobile medical diagnostics systems and cost-effective microscopy systems, especially in resource-poor areas.
