Raw material challenge for Paper industry

Paper consumption in India has been growing at about 8% in the last few years. The industry has reached an inflection point and is poised for larger growth in multiple of GDP, said Mr Madhukar Mishra, outgoing President of Indian Paper Manufacturers Association (IPMA) at the 13th AGM of the industry body at New Delhi. "India is rated as one of the fastest growing market for paper globally. The demand of paper has been growing at around 8% for some time and so far, the growth of paper industry has mirrored the growth in GDP. However paper consumption is poised for a big leap forward in sync with the economic growth and would overtake GDP growth rate as happened in other economies at a similar point in their growth trajectory.
