摘要

Lately, money means everything. Everyone calculates the cost of goods and labor in cash. Things have no value unless you can convert them into money. But money isn't really worth anything until it is converted into something-that's either a tautology or an oxymoron. The word "economics" is actually Greek. Webster's defines it as "a social science concerned chiefly with description and analysis of the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services." And Wikipedia says that economics "involves the study of choices as they are affected by incentives and resources...a process that uses resources to create a commodity that is suitable for exchange. This can include manufacturing, warehousing, shipping, and packaging." To some, the bottom-line is that economics is about the basic relationship between scarcity and cost, and that no one can be made better off without making someone else worse off.
