Fusionopolis - World Within A City

In October 2008, Singapore will celebrate the opening of the second major research and development [REtD) hub. Fusionopolis, the new and futuristic two-tower cum podium complex, touted to be the science and technology powerhouse, will house public laboratories of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A~*STAR) and corporate laboratories under one roof. Drawing together more than 1000 researchers from both sectors, who have between them a spectrum of capabilities such as materials science and engineering, data storage, microelectronics, manufacturing technology, high performance computing, and infocommunications research, Fusionopolis looks set to be the center for research in physical sciences and engineering to tackle global science and technology challenges.
