Edwards Lifesciences Opens New Singapore Heart Valve Facility

Edwards Lifesciences, the world leader in the science of heart valves and hemodynamic monitoring, recently opened its new heart valve manufacturing facility in Singapore. The 98,000 sq ft, state-of-the-art facility which is located at Changi North Crescent, produces Edwards' world-lea ding Carpen tier-Edwards PER1MOUNT tissue heart valve replacements, and also serves as the headquarters for Edwards' Asia-Pacific operations. In June 2005, Edward Lifesciences brought operations to Singapore with a small-scale, temporary facility. It began with 10 people who worked on wireform stents that formed the foundation of its tissue heart valves. Mr Donald E Bobo, Jr, Edwards' corporate vice president of heart valve therapy, explained why the lifesciences company chose to open in Singapore. "Edwards' new Singapore facility was developed to meet the global demands for our technologically advanced tissue heart valve replacement products," he said.
