The Library Journal's prestigious honor of 2008 Librarian of the Year was bestowed upon state librarian Norma Blake from the New Jersey State Library (NJSL). Blake's longstanding legacy of leadership and innovation earned her kudos from colleagues and, ultimately, the 2008 title. Among her achievements is the New Jersey Knowledge Initiative (NJKI), which created an information infrastructure of high-end databases (science, medicine, and technology) for small businesses.
