Google Opens eBookstore

Just when you thought the ebook market couldn't get any more crowded, another familiar face is entering the space. In December, Google opened the digital doors of its Google eBookstore and accompanying Google eBooks app, a full-featured digital bookstore that the Mountain View, Calif.-based search giant reports contained 3 million ebooks at launch. According to Google, the majority of the titles in the store are free public domain works, with about 200,000 titles available for purchase. The Google eBookstore is already available in the U.S., and it is expected to launch in Europe in early 2011.
