This book is a collection of papers based on presentations at the conference 'The Good, the Bad and the Irrelevant: The user and the Future of information and Communication Technologies' (European COST 269 network). The editors position the papers under the broad umbrella of information and communication technologies' (ICTs) use in everyday life. Silverstone and Haddon's (1996) theory of domestication is consequently a key organising framework.
