摘要

The production of holes is one of the most common operations among all machining processes, rendered more complex than other metal removal operations due to the problem of access. The characteristic feature of reaming with diamond and cBN abrasives is the high geometric quality and roundness which can be achieved. Despite its widespread use, however, the fundamentals of the process are not well understood. This paper provides an overview of the technique and some experimental work on the effect of the rigidly fixed reamer and workpiece on bore roundness is also reported.
