BA Engineering gears up to service next generation of airliners

British Airways Engineering, a maintenance, repair and overhaul provider for airlines, has opened three new training rooms at its Heathrow maintenance base, London. The classrooms, approved by the European Aviation Safety Agency, each have a capacity of 12-16 students. They will be used to deliver theoretical and practical training dedicated to Boeing 787, Airbus 380 and Airbus 318/19/20/21 aircraft. The British Airways Engineering Boeing 787 training facility is the world's first, outside those currently provided by Boeing. Both the Boeing 787 and Airbus 380 rooms will initially be used to prepare British Airways employees for entry into service of the next-generation aircraft, in 2013. It is planned in the near future to make these facilities available to commercial customers seeking the advanced technical training required to serve these aircraft variants.
