Sericulture showed them the way to prosperity

Sericulture in Kerala could not sustain success, for different reasons. However, few farmers of Thiruvanvandoor panchayat of Chengannur cluster though took up rearing on a small scale, could reap regular cocoon harvests and sustained returns. Presented here is an account of their efforts, support under CDP and their setting up a mode! for the farmers in the neighbouring areas.
