Development of sericulture industry in Egypt

Sericulture in Egypt has a long history. Of late, the industry has almost come to a halt, due to primitive technologies, increasing input cost, and disinterest among younger generation in sericulture. The author presents a detailed account of the status and efforts made to revive sericulture in Egypt. Reproduced here is the paper presented by him at the XXII ISC Congress held recently.
