Development of a simple low-cost heating device for silkworm rearing house

Among the various biotic and abiotic factors that lead to a successful cocoon crop, maintenance of required level of temperature and humidity during silkworm rearing contributes significantly. Attempts have been made in the past to ensure proper maintenance of temperature inside the rearing room. Now, a simple device has been innovated for heating the rearing room, at a low cost. Details: A successful cocoon crop is always the dream of each sericulture farmer. The interplay of many parameters like good mulberry leaf, environmental conditions, parental seed quality, management efficiency etc., contribute towards a successful cocoon crop. Maintenance of required temperature of 27-28°C during chawki stage and 24-25°C during adult stage of the larvae significantly contributes for the robust growth of silkworm.
