It can be concluded that in order to achieve the desired results through adoption of control measures, it is essential to have the knowledge on correct and accurate diagnosis of the disease as well as on economic threshold level of pathogens causing diseases. Hence, keen vigilance /critical observations from time to time on severity of the diseases will help to avoid turning them as epidemic. Further, it has also been noticed that a single plant or leaf may be affected by more than one disease/pathogen. Such diseases have to be examined properly and appropriate control measures need to be taken. Compliance by the farmers, as suggested above, will definitely help them prevent the leaf yield loss due to diseases besides improving the leaf quality, and in turn, improve the growth and development of silkworms, cocoon yield and quality and finally, the returns from the cocoon crop.
