A Record Earning of 130.44 cr. Registered from Ticketless/Irregular Travellers

Central Railway registered a record ticket checking earnings of 130.44 cr. for the period April 2017 to January 2018 in its intensive campaign against ticketless and irregular travel. In its endeavor to provide better services to bonafide rail users and also to curb the ticketless travel. In the month of January 2018, a total of 2.16 lakh cases of ticketless/irregular travel and unbooked luggage were detected as against 1.94 lakh cases in the corresponding month of last year i.e. January 2017, showing an increase of 11.32%. The earnings realized from such ticketless/ irregular travel registered 9.35 cr. during the month of January 2018 showing an increase of 11.53% as compared to earnings of 8.38 cr. registered during the corresponding month of last year i.e. January 2017. In addition during the month of January 2018, 362 cases of transfer of reserved journey tickets were detected and 2.97 lakh recovered as penalty.
