When the first Kisan Rail rolled out of Devlali on the 7th August, 2020, the symbolic chain of imperialism with which the British had tied the railways, was finally broken. Right from its inception railways was the biggest and most powerful tool in the hands of the imperialistic masters. The growth of this giant was directly linked to the industrial revolution which was taking place in Great Britain. India's farmers were victims of Britain's policies of draining india's wealth through over exploitation of the agrarian economy. India was both a supplier of raw materials as well as a market for the finished british goods. Today railways are hand in hand with the farmers and the process of agrarian empowerment has begun.
