The Materials Management Department of Western Railway organised a Vendor Development Meet at Vapi Industries Association Hall, Vapi on 3 May, 2019 which was attended by about 40 vendors and was a great success. During this programme, Shri Jyoti Prakash Pandey - Principal Chief Materials Manager of Western Railway addressed the vendors and emphasised on the fact that Indian Railways has taken several initiatives to make the tendering process more transparent and competitive. He mentioned that due to advancement of technology entire procurement process of Railways is digitized, highly transparent and there is no manual interference even after receipt of supply in Railways by adopting online issue of Receipt Note and online payment process. He also informed the vendors that all information of Purchase is available on one click on mobile through app.
