摘要

A comparative study of the refractive index mixing rules of Lorentz-Lorenz, Gladstone-Dale, Wein-er, Heller, Arago-Biot, Eykman and Oster has been done from the measured experimental density and refractive index data for the ternary mixtures at 303.5K. Relative merits of these rules have been discussed. It is pointed out that all the mixing rules perform well within the limit of experimental error but the performance of each of the mixing rules is different for different ternary mixtures under investigation here. In general, the performance of Arago-Biot (A-B) relation is comparatively better than those of others in all these systems.
