Model village scheme a success in Rajasthan

A two-year-long pilot project launched by a commercial group working in the renewable energy sector under its corporate social responsibility initiative to develop 14 model villages covering 1,000 marginalised and poor households in Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan has helped build up local sources of livelihood for the target population. The project involved appointment of village development committees (VDCs) with focus on livestock development, health care, solar energy lighting and water security.
