Extraction of alkaline earth metal and zinc picrates from aqueous solution into non- polar organic solvents by cryptand-2,2,2

The results on the extraction of calcium, strontium, barium and zinc picrates from aqvjeous medium into methylene chloride and chloroform in the presence of cryptand-2,2,2 are reported. An analysis of the results in terms of the various equilibria, their equilibrium constants and the factors influencing them is presented.
