摘要

At the interior joints of a typical reinforced concrete framed structure, there is heavy congestion of reinforcement as it is the juncture at which beams and columns meet. The authors investigate the possibility of reducing congestion of the top reinforcement in the orthogonal beams at the interior joint. This would facilitate better compaction of concrete at the beam-column junction, leading to better quality of concrete in terms of strength and durability.
