L'Aquila earthquake in Italy

I wish to clarify a few points regarding my article based on the report by Carlo Bonini in "La Republica" of 10 April 2009, as appeared in the newspaper website. Carlo Bonini has quoted Paolo Clemente, an engineer working for ENEA (The Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and the Environment), as expressing the view that seaside sand might have been used in the construction of concrete framed buildings. Carlo Bonini's report has suggested that the devastating building collapses and loss of life would not have taken place, if the reinforced concrete buildings had been constructed correctly to resist an earthquake like the L'Aquila earthquake.
