A qualitative study of precast plants in Malaysia

摘要

Prefabrication (the Industrialized Building System - IBS) has been successfully employed in the manufacturing of houses and multi-story industrial buildings.37 The main factors affecting the setting up of the precast manufacturing factories as found in the qualitative survey are lack of the following: state-of-the-art technology, capability of transportation and erection of IBS components, best practices in design and build, and skilled workers. The state-of-the-art technology is vital in accelerating the development of a country, and represents a major factor in setting up precast manufacturing units.
