Design of rectangular coal bunker of large capacity

Process Industries need steam for the operation of the various processes. Coal fired boilers are provided to generate the required quantity of steam. Coal required for the boiler operation will be stored in large bunkers. Design of this size and shape of the bunker is first time in India; however, such large bunkers are adopted in other parts of world. This paper describes the selection of size, shape of bunker, analysis, design and detailing aspects of these large size bunkers of two numbers 60,000kN capacity each.
