摘要

The loss of post-storage germinability of high-medium vigour rice (cv. IR-64) by dry-dressing with ascorbic acid (vitamin-c) @ 500 mg/kg of seed; bleaching powder @ 2 gm/kg of seed; red chilli powder @ 1 g/kg of seed; aspirin @ 100 mg/kg of seed, p-aminobenzoic acid @ 500 mg/kg of seed could be effectively controlled vigour and viability in comparison to untreated control seed. Whereas, simple water-soaking-drying treatment showed significant beneficial effect on germinability in comparison to seed invigoration by dry-dressing treatments. The field experiments were also carried out with treated and untreated seed by both SRI and conventional methods. In both the methods seed yield and other yield attributes of high-medium vigour rice also showed significant increase with water soaking-drying treatment over untreated control. Among the dry-seed invigoration treatment ascorbic acid followed by aspirin, bleaching powder etc have shown better result in improving field performance and productivity. Betwe n the two methodologies SRI technology has shown better result in improving yield and other yield attributes. The interaction effect between treatment and methodology are significant. It has also been revealed that the treatment effects are independent of methodologies which indicate that the seed invigoration treatments are effective in improving field performance and productivity of rice. However seed invigoration treatments employing SRI method of rice cultivation may be practiced for increasing yield and other yield attributes.
