East Coast regional parcel carrier Eastern Connection now provides two-day service to Pittsburgh, Pa; Charleston, W.Va.; Cleveland, Columbus, and Cincinnati, Ohio; Lexington, Ky.; Indianapolis, Ind.; and Detroit, Mich. New investments in handheld digital scanners and an overhead parcel scanner system allow for increased efficiency. CSX began operating New England's first doublestack-cleared intermodal route between New York and Massachusetts. The new service reduces transit time by nearly one day and benefits shippers throughout New England.
