The journey is complete, yet just beginning. This is an appropriate opening for my first "real" from the desk of commentary being officially on board. After driving from Southern California through snow, freezing temperatures and narrowly avoiding road closures, I was greeted in Newark, New York by the Arctic Blast that drove temperatures way below anything I have seen in years! I jokingly was telling the staff that I was expecting 70 degree temps when I got there. What I failed to realize was that I should have said POSITIVE 70, not 70 below with wind chills! Good thing I grew up in Chicago and graduated from the University of Colorado, so I have experience in driving and living in cold and snowy climates.
