By the time you receive the March/April issue of the IMSA Journal, the Board of Directors will have met in January. The minutes of the August, 2007 meeting will be approved during the January 23rd meeting. Perhaps you have wondered what business takes place during a Board of Directors meeting. There are, in fact, two Board meetings that take place annually on the same day, just prior to the opening day of the Annual Conference: The Old Board and the New Board. What is the difference? The Old Board is comprised of those directors who were members of the Board at the close of the previous year's conference. The new Board is comprised of individuals who were elected to the Board of Directors after the close of the previous year's conference. Both Boards' responsibilities are prescribed in the IMSA Bylaws. I thought you might be interested in the actions taken by the Board during their meeting last August.
