CDRH Director Sets Priorities for 2005

Medical device makers shouldn't expect new initiatives from the Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) in 2005. Instead, the agency will focus on implementing its existing long-term strategic plan, says Director Daniel Schultz, MD. "Our goal for the coming year is to execute the plan effectively," says Schultz. "First and foremost, we're committed to fulfilling our obligations under the Medical Device User Fee and Modernization Act (MDUFMA). Ensuring its success is critical to the Center's fiscal well-being and will provide us with the resources needed to achieve our public health goals."
