The trend towards integrated processing in newspaper production, characterised by the increased merging of technical systems, continues unabated. And not only that: The newspaper product itself is changing, getting richer, more multifaceted and cross-media. There are very few newspapers left that exist solely as a print product. During holidays on a remote island, the newspaper becomes an e-Paper. In some cases, besides this electronic version of the printed newspaper, a special e-Paper product designed for the A4 format is produced that is updated several times daily for downloading or outputting on home printers.
