It is time for publishing houses to make up their minds on where they stand in relation to the omnipresent and increasingly powerful and its players, and define their position accordingly. For example, it is vital to establish who is friend and who is foe, and whether it is better to make their own way through the 2.0 world or join forces with aggregators, such as Google, etc. Regarding this, Jo Groebel, director of the German Digital Institute in Berlin, gave an impassioned keynote presentation emphasising that newspapers "must learn in the future to enter into key partnerships."
