The annual WAN-IFRA Printing Summit 2012 in Berlin in March demonstrated the many advantages and opportunities when technology and business strategy converge.The conference was attended by around 100 participants from 17 countries, mostly top managers from newspaper printing and publishing companies as well as representatives from the supplier side. Besides interesting experience reports about the application of new technology, such as closed-loop density control systems or recent retrofit projects, there were a number of presentations that dealt with business or marketing topics, the necessity to improve efficiency, cut costs and to create new revenues -clearly reflecting today's printing challenges and opportunities.
