As part of a partnership with Oce, manroland web systems has developed FoldLine, a finishing solution especially for digital newspaper printing. A vital part of newspaper production is the processing of the printed webs to finished newspaper copies. What in a newspaper press constitutes a natural part of print production represents a special challenge in digital printing. Alwin Stadler, Head of Business Development Digital Printing at manroland web systems, emphasises that it was the objective of manroland, in cooperation with its partner Oce, to develop a total digital printing system and in doing so "realise a deep integration of the printing system workflow with the newly developed finishing."
