摘要

Application of combined direct and indirect adaptive control (CDlAC) technique for temperature control of counter-flow heat exchanger (CFHE) which are used extensively in process industries have been dealt here. A modified CDlAC technique has been developed by carrying out improvement on the original proposed by Duarte and Narendra. The modified and original CDlAC algorithms and PID control algorithm have been tested on a CFHE designed and developed in the laboratory. It has been found that the modified technique has better disturbance. rejection property compared to the other two techniques. The tracking of set-point change is also improved in the modified method. The claim of improvement is based on experimental investigations stretching over a period of six months
