摘要

The experimental demonstration of a novel spectrum-sliced elastic optical path network (SLICE) is presented. The description of network's key elements - the bandwidth-variable transponder and wavelength cross-connect is followed by the explanation of the primary functionality of SLICE. Bandwidth variation, segmentation and aggregation are explained and their feasibility is evaluated in the experiment. Transmission of a 1 Tb/s super-wavelength optical path is also demonstrated.
