Stable operation and prospective application of COMS Ka band Payload

Ka-band Payload of COMS (Communication, Ocean and Meteorological Satellite), designed and developed by ETRI, has been operated with stable condition and used for various purposes. During last two years after COMS launching at 26 Jun. 2010, Ka payload has demonstrated stable and reliable operation on the GEO orbit, and applied to the various services. The payload system has been applied for public communication services, test bed on advanced satellite multimedia communication and broadcasting services and others. This paper describes reliable operational status at GEO orbit and prospective application of Ka band payload system.
