摘要

Consulting to geo-location database is one of the approaches for secondary user (SU) to obtain the list of available channels for its operation. Each regulator requires the SU to send certain types of information to the geo-location database in order to calculate the channel availability. In this paper we provide a summary of information exchange between SU and database, and existing methods to determine available channels. According to our analysis these methods consume time and introduce heavy load to the database due to the procedure of intersection test between protected contours of many channels and the operation area of SU in order to protect primary users (PU) from harmful interference. We propose a query method which reduces calculation time and database's load by submitting SU's preferred channels to the database. The additional information provided by SUs can also help the database manages spectrum usage so that it can provide recommendation to other SUs.
