A simple multiuser detector (MUD) is proposed for channelsnaffected by severe multipath and is then suitable for time-divisionnduplexing code-division multiple-access (TDD-CDMA) receivers. For eachnuser, after coherent combining and despreading, a suitablen“Bayesian” memoryless nonlinearity gives symbol-by-symbolnthe expected values of the transmitted data. These are employed for softnremoval of intersymbol and multiple-access interference (MAI) from thenreceived sequences. The procedure is iterated in a multistage structurenuntil final decisions are taken. From the comparison with othernsolutions, the proposed receiver exhibits better performance (close tonthe ideal canceller) and equal or minor complexity
