摘要

A novel FEM based on the elimination of the motional terms which may cause numerical oscillation has previously been proposed as an alternative to "upwinding", for moving conductor eddy current problems. This paper describes the extensions of this method into more general cases such as non-uniform mesh and variable velocity or permeability. Due to the fact that the new method gives the best results for a uniform mesh, a simple treatment is proposed to show how the method can also be advantageous in a non-uniform mesh situation. It is also shown in this paper that, in the case of variable speed or permeability, this new method is able to provide a criteria as to how the mesh should be generated to obtain the best results.
