An investigation of magnetic recording spatial pattern on recorded/erased tape is given by using our reflection electron beam tomography. In our method, the electron beams are injected to the tape surface and the positions of the reflected electron beams are measured by a two-dimensional position sensitive detector (PSD). The three-dimensional magnetic stray fields at a distance of 0.4 cm from the tape surfaces are reconstructed using an algebraic reconstruction technique (ART) algorithm from the measured deflection vectors of the reflection electron beams. From the experimental results, we show the capability of our method for measuring three-dimensional magnetic stray fields just beyond the surfaces of magnetic materials and the possibility of our method for revealing magnetization structures on magnetic tapes.
