Efficient implementation of two-band PR-QMF filterbanks

An oversampling technique that allows ternary (-1,0,1) filterncoefficients is proposed for the implementation of two-band perfectnreconstruction-quadrature mirror filter (PR-QMF) integer filterbanks.nThe optimization algorithm is based on the energy compaction. Thenresulting filterbank has two advantages: (i) the multiplier-freenstructure allows small VLSI area and low-power, and (ii) the filters usenthe whole given integer range leading to better objective performancencompared to the previously published approaches
