We present a new method to design prototype filters fornconventional cosine-modulated pseudo-quadrature mirror filter (QMF)nbanks. This method is based on windowing, and sets the 3-dB cutoffnfrequency of the filter obtained at Π/2M. In this way, the filternbank performance can be significantly improved compared to othernexisting design methods
