Herriott Cell Design With Minimum Volume and Multiple Reflection Rings for Infrared Gas Sensing

摘要

In order to reduce the space waste of the classical Herriott cell with a single-round-ring reflection mode pattern, we introduced a theoretical method to solve this problem without reducing the reflection number. Additionally, by calculating the size and light intensity distribution of the reflected spots, we proposed a concentric reflection model that can make a single Herriot cell own multiple light paths. This kind of cell can extend the measurement span for the detection of a single gas species or for the multi-gas detection with different absorption lengths. Proof-of-concept experiments were carried out to verify the theory of our model.
