This study considers the multicasting problem over mobile wirelessnsystems in the context of generic wireless systems. Specifically, annovel constrained tree migration scheme (CTMS) is created to supportnmulticast services in mobile wireless networks. The salient features ofnthe novel CTMS include: (1) automatically recognizing the inefficiencynof the multicast trees, then migrating them to better ones, whilenmaintaining the QoS guarantees specified by mobile users; (2) conservingnnetwork resources by maintaining a low-cost multicast tree, thusnaccommodating more users; (3) operating efficiently in a trulyndistributed manner through event driven and diffusing computations, thusnincreasing the degree of scalability; (4) synchronizing datantransmission flow for transparency during the tree migration, and thusnproviding seamless handoff control. Finally, the novel CTMS also handlesnthe concurrent migration problem effectively within the wireless system,nthus eliminating the oscillation paradox. Extensive simulation resultsnshow that CTMS can significantly reduce the resources used per multicastntree, thus achieving both low handoff-dropping/join-blocking rate andnhigh resource utilization
