DLT/Blockchain as a Building Block for Enterprise Transformation

Distributed ledger technology (or DLT - frequently referred to as "blockchain") has enjoyed a spectacular rise to prominence in recent years. Amidst the excitement and hype, however, much work remains to be done before its promise is realized by enterprises. Drawing upon three decades experience in enterprise solution development for large enterprises and government agencies, the author shares his views in this article about where things stand and what remains to be done. For clarity’s sake, my focus will be on private, permissioned DLT deployments where the parties are known to one another within an enterprise ecosystem.
