Placement of concrete in the main structures of the Vilyui III hydrostation [1] has been being carried out since 1987 at an annual rate of 30, 000-67, 000 m~3 with a maximum monthly rate of 10, 000 M~3. Concreting has been carried out year-round. The volume of concrete placed in winter months decreased by a factor of 3-5 compared with summer. At the end of 1997 about 90/100 of the design volume of concrete was placed. The average annual outside air temperature in the construction region, according to the contract design data, is -9.7 deg. C, in the coldest month (January) -37.8 deg. C and in the warmest (July) =16.9 deg. C.
