Fauna, Distribution, and Ecology of Mollusks of the Genus Unio (Mollusca: Bivalvia: Unionidae) in the Basin of the Dnieper River within the Territory of Ukraine

Samples were taken at more than 80 stations located within the basin of the Dnieper River. The distribution of mollusks of the genus Unio, the frequency of their occurrence, and the density of their populations were investigated along with the study of hydrological and hydrochemical characteristics of sampling stations. The ecological spectra of mollusks were determined. The peculiarities of the distribution and ecology of these animals were compared with those given in literature.
