Installing One of the Largest Trashraking Systems in the World

Alcan significantly reduced its trash removal maintenance costs and decreased production losses at its 900-MW Shipshaw Hydroelectric Power Station in Quebec, Canada, by replacing an outdated trashrack cleaning unit. Shipshaw's new cleaning unit ― the largest of its type in the world ― features a 4.5-ton cable-operated gripper rake and a 50-ton hoist.
